Outside skids inset from floor edge?

What's the reason to inset the outside skids 6-8" from the floor edge? Is it for aesthetics? I would think you'd want the skid to sit under the front and back wall.

Thanks

If you place concrete blocks under the skids they will stick out the edge unless you offset the skids from the edge. There is plenty of floor strength if you want to set them in further to reduce the number of skids used and the span between them. Depending on how you build your floor, 2 skids are sufficient for up to a 12 wide shed if they are spaced so they break up the total floor span.

Ah, OK. Yes, that makes sense. I will also eliminate 1 row of skids from 4 down to 3 on my 10' wide (deep?) x 14'.
